EFOF Welcome message

Epilepsy Foundation of Florida is here to help

The Healthcare Navigation Program at the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida provides in-person education, counseling and enrollment assistance to Floridians wanting to shop and enroll for health coverage, or have questions concerning their health insurance through the federal Health Marketplace (healthcare.gov).

Consumers can call our toll-free statewide assistance number, 1-877-553-7453, to ask a licensed navigator about health marketplace insurance options. One-on-one navigation services are also available by appointment at many convenient community locations in our service areas: Pensacola, Jacksonville, and West Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. Our services are available in English, Spanish and Creole languages.

We offer help year-round! After the open enrollment has ended, our navigators can continue to enroll consumers who qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP), if certain life-changes occur, including losing a job, getting married, having a child or moving into Florida.

Navigators are also happy to educate consumers on how to use their new healthcare policies effectively through our Coverage-to-Care initiative. This consumer-friendly outreach program reviews what’s covered in their health plans – including the Essential Benefits and preventive health services like immunization vaccines, screening tests and annual exams. These services don’t charge copays or coinsurance. Deductibles don’t apply to this services, either.  Our presentations cover how health insurance plans work, coverage limits, benefits and networks. Navigators also review the meaning of key insurance terms, including deductibles, co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses as well as how to choose a primary physician.

The Epilepsy Foundation also provides assistance with appeals of health marketplace decisions concerning eligibility and exemptions. Navigators can also assist consumers with some insurance company issues.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida’s navigation program is here to help all year long. Call us at 877-553-7453 to schedule an appointment or a presentation to a community, school or workgroup. More information on our services and programs is also available on our website:
