80 organizations in total awarded over $200,000 in IRONAID grants to support COVID-19 response programs since launch

TAMPA, Fla. (June 18, 2020) – The IRONMAN Foundation® has announced its second distribution of IRONAID™ COVID-19 Support Fund grants to be awarded to 40 charitable organizations and COVID-19 response programs. Since its launch, the IRONAID COVID-19 Support Fund has awarded over $200,000 in funds to organizations around the world. Recognizing that the immediate needs of communities will be different than those that will emerge in the months ahead, the IRONAID COVID-19 Support Fund grants aim to address some of the most pressing issues facing communities in the midst of the pandemic. IRONAID COVID-19 Support Fund applications will continue to be accepted, and additional relief funding will be announced in the coming months.

“Our event communities are facing unprecedented challenges and we’re grateful these nonprofit organizations are offering the opportunity to help provide some relief,” said Sarah Hartmann, Executive Director of the IRONMAN Foundation. “Through the generosity of our athletes, partners and donors, we will continue to work together to rapidly address ongoing needs and create tangible impact.”

IRONAID COVID-19 Support Fund grants are available to health-related nonprofit organizations around the world. Supported grantee programs include medical assistance; support of children, youth, and veterans; impoverished and other vulnerable populations; feeding the hungry; general emergency relief; and research into SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19.
