Seizure Recognition and Response Training for Law Enforcement Officers
Seizure Recognition and Response Training for Law Enforcement Officers
This training was created with law enforcement professionals in mind. Whether you’ve responded to a call where someone had a seizure or you’re looking to be better prepared for the future, this course gives you the tools to feel confident in those moments. You’ll gain a solid understanding of epilepsy, the different types of seizures, and how seizures can affect a person’s behavior or communication. We’ll also cover Seizure Action Plans and walk through the essential steps of seizure response and first aid.
The training includes real-world scenarios and guidance on how to recognize when behavior may be seizure-related, so you can respond with the right approach and keep everyone safe. The course takes about 30 minutes to complete, but we understand that uninterrupted time isn’t always possible. You can pause and pick up right where you left off whenever you need to.
You’ve got a lot on your plate. This small step could make a big difference on the job—and in someone’s life. This course is designed to provide information, tools, and resources for law enforcement officers across Florida and beyond. The training is meant to serve as a guide for better conversations within your department and more effective responses to calls involving people with seizures and epilepsy.
It is up to you and your department to determine the exact protocols for your jurisdiction.
Available 24/7, this On-Demand training takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
