Empowering Lives with Seizure Response Dogs

At Epilepsy Alliance Florida, we recognize the profound impact seizure response dogs can have on individuals living with epilepsy. These specially trained dogs provide crucial assistance during seizures, enhancing safety, independence, and overall quality of life. To support individuals and families in obtaining these valuable companions, we have established the Seizure Response Dog Scholarship Fund.

About the Scholarship Fund

The Seizure Response Dog Scholarship Fund offers financial assistance of up to $5,000 to help cover the costs associated with purchasing a seizure response dog. This scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burden and make these life-changing dogs more accessible to those in need.

Why a Seizure Response Dog?

Seizure response dogs are trained to assist during and after a seizure, providing a range of support such as:

  • Alerting caregivers or family members
  • Providing comfort and protection during a seizure
  • Activating alarm systems or medical alert devices

Eligibility and Application

Our scholarship is open to individuals and families who meet the following criteria:

  • Residents of Florida
  • Diagnosed with epilepsy
  • Have a neurologist’s recommendation for a seizure response dog

How to Apply

Applying for the Seizure Response Dog Scholarship is a straightforward process. Interested applicants should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and are prepared to provide necessary documentation from their neurologist.
