Esner was introduced to Epilepsy Alliance Florida in 2017 as an uninsured patient through St. Mary’s Hospital.

His mother applied for medical and case management services, and Esner has received both from Epilepsy Alliance Florida until recently. In October 2022, Esner’s mother was able to obtain Medicaid for him.

During his years of receiving medical services through Epilepsy Alliance Florida, Esner has seen a neurologist and received tests, lab work, and medication. He also received case management services, including a medical ID bracelet, gas cards, and epilepsy education in Spanish. Thanks to this support, Esner has flourished in school and is doing well.

Today, Esner’s epilepsy is well-maintained with medication and his family is thankful to Epilepsy Alliance Florida for being there when they needed it most. They look forward to continuing their involvement with the organization in the future.
