Miles Levin: Shining a Light on Epilepsy Through Film

Meet Miles Levin, a talented filmmaker living with epilepsy who is on a mission to change the way the world sees this often misunderstood condition. Miles is currently working on what promises to be the most impactful epilepsy awareness campaign in history. His project, Under the Lights, is a full-length feature film based on his award-winning short film of the same name. The story revolves around a young boy with epilepsy who faces the challenges of trying to attend his prom—a universal coming-of-age experience that resonates deeply with audiences.

Under the Lights is set to feature major star actors and will be available on streaming platforms, where it aims to reach tens of millions of viewers. This film is not just a story; it’s a movement. It seeks to bring empathy and understanding to the struggles of living with epilepsy, something that is often misrepresented or overlooked in mainstream media.

One of the biggest challenges the epilepsy community faces is breaking out of the isolation that surrounds it and being heard by the general public. Miles believes that stigma stems from the fact that, for many people, the only time they’ve seen a seizure is in a hospital drama or horror movie. By presenting a character whose experience with epilepsy is portrayed with empathy and authenticity, Miles hopes to shift perceptions and foster understanding. As he puts it, “The medicine for cruelty is empathy.”

Last year, Miles won an award for the concept of this film at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival, and he has since partnered with Vanishing Angle, a renowned production company whose films regularly play and win at the top festivals worldwide. With major stars set to bring this story to life, Under the Lights is poised to become the most powerful epilepsy narrative ever told on screen.

We invite you to support Miles in making this groundbreaking project a reality. Whether through a contribution or simply sharing his campaign, every action helps to spread awareness and foster a more empathetic world
